How can I learn to Dance Salsa at home?
3rd September 2008
Or Ballroom dances for that matter?
There are lots of DVDs available and clips you can watch on the internet, but from someone who's tried to learn ballroom/latin by these methods, I gotta tell you, it's difficult! I gave up and booked myself in classes in the end.
If you possibly can, you should try and attend a few classes.
What is worth investing in, however, is some good salsa music and some good strict-tempo ballroom and latin CDs. Hearing the music will give you a start in itself!

If you have to do it at home, get this DVD set ( http://www.reviewk.com/learntodance/ ) – not very expensive (I think $99) – and it teaches you 8 different types of dances including Salsa, Jive, Foxtrot, Jive, Waltz, rhumba, samba, tango… I have used it in past and have liked it much.
